The concept of “overengineering”

Lets take say a new house construct and factor in the cost of an engineer. Now take the cost of an engineer and apply that cost to simply “overbuilding” or “overengineering”.

By building things a bit heavier you end up with consturcts that last much longer than you would normally expect with a “properly engineered” construct.

You could apply this to many things from roads to buildings to bicycles.

“Archtypes” is really the study of this overengineering and appropriate tech for the times.
